Things Don’t Have To Be Perfect Before You Begin – The Key Is Just Showing Up

dont-be-perfect-just-begin

I agree with the people who believe it takes 21 days to make something a habit!

Hitting that marker yesterday makes me feel like now I am in my groove. Some things I have a harder time committing to than others, and for some reason this daily blog project just comes naturally. I am so thankful for this, as writing is always something I have wanted to do more of-just have not been sure how to start until now.

I mentioned on Extreme Health Radio’s ‘free for all Friday‘ show this morning how I KNOW I am no where near where I want to go with both my style of writing and how I express myself more fully and openly.

However, I feel I just need to start somewhere and although I will probably look back on this beginning of my blog journey and see things I would have wanted to do differently, I really feel it’s just imperative to BEGIN.

It’s not about being polished or perfect-it’s just about trusting that this is the point in time that I have chosen to start this journey.

I often wonder how many of us never follow our dreams because we are so worried about how they might look if they are not what we think as perfect? Or even worse-what other people think they should look like?

Putting myself ‘out there’ has been an interesting road to say the least, especially for someone who has been super fearful of criticism. You’d think I would cower and shy away in the corner if only knew the me that I have known my whole life.

Building confidence in who I am, what I think and believe, being honest about not having all the answers (not even close!), has been a tumultuous but worth it ride that I am thrilled to be on.

Feeling good is about learning more about myself-through reading, inspired conversations, asking questions and deep soul searching.

The more I get honest with myself, the better I start to feel. In my experience thus far, fear releases it’s grip ever so slightly every time I take a leap of faith in sharing bits of my life with our listeners/readers.

I am SO blessed by the emails and comments I get from people around the globe, having similar experiences and thanking me for putting myself out there. It makes it worth the journey when I can hopefully root someone on in their own personal story back to health and well-being.

FEEL GOOD MOMENT OF THE DAY: Knowing that my days left at the salon are down in the single digits now-cannot believe I am getting ready to take the leap into the unknown going into the new year. Somehow though, I am oddly COMFORTABLE with marching into the unknown adventure awaiting me.
