It’s funny people ask me all the time about my diet. It’s probably the question I get the most.

It’s interesting because diet like health is a moving target. There are just so many factors as to what is a good diet for all people. Some people like the Paleo or neolithic type diet, some people are vegans, some people are vegetarians, some are raw food vegans, some or lacto ovo vegetarians and you can keep going down the list of what all the different diets are.

You can get into all the popular fad diets too like the Atkins diet, The South Beach Diet and on and on we go.

Personally I think each person is different and requires different things than other people. Also the same person (who’s a vegetarian) might require eating meat if they’re going to go on a long hike or expedition. Of a pregnant mother might need to change up her diet in order to facilitate having a healthy baby.

Not only are we all different but each of us require different nutrients at different times in our lives to reach our goals.

Diet has a lot to do with goals. I know there are a lot of vegetarian body builders for example but you won’t see many vegetarians or vegans winning at the highest levels of bodybuilding competitions.

Similarly you won’t see many strong man competitors living into their old age. It all depends on what we want to accomplish. If you want to live a long time your diet might be different than if you want to build a lot of muscle and put on tons of muscle weight.

In my mind there is no one size fits all diet we should all follow.

Everything is subject to change…

Even my diet is changing all the time. I was a 100% raw food vegan for 7 years from 2003 to 2010 and now I eat a small amount of animal products (meats are mostly cooked) and I’ll do raw cheese from grass fed cows on occasion along with grass fed raw butter. I also do lots of green veggie juices, green smoothies, medicinal mushrooms like reishi, rehmannia, chaga and goji berries. I’ll add in super foods like maca root, cacao powder, chlorella, bee pollen, schizandra berries, acai berries and of course green powders.

Bascially I do about 80% raw food and then perhaps a cooked meal in the early evening.
