Feel Good Project day 3 was quite fruitful.

It started off with a bang as today daylight savings time began, so I woke up feeling extra refreshed! Waking up to warm, happy yellow sunshine streaming though the window was enough to make my soul sing.

Sleep is one thing I still want to get more of. I keep talking about attempting a designated bedtime to make sure I get proper rest (especially being an adrenal fatigue sufferer) so that is something that is still on my list!

Bone broth is quite the big deal around our home lately. Justin and I (and yes-even Maggie Brown) have all been participating in daily bowls of warmed chicken bone broth. We seem to think it is the breakfast of champions around here. Started my day off with a nice warm bowl which just felt right to me.

Three times this week at random I have stumbled across facts about bone broth and the ways it helps aid in healing gut issues. I read in one article that our gut lining is renewed every three days, and in a book I am reading it mentioned that is true every five days.

Whether three or five, I am starting to become a big believer in bone broth.

Who would’ve thought? Drinking broth for breakfast is pretty much the last thing I thought I’d ever be doing…however it’s becoming a new sacred ritual in our household.

All I know is that I want my gut HEALED once and for all. No more two or three days of good stomach only to be followed by pains and bloating for the next two (repeat, repeat, repeat…) as it has been for the past five years or so.

My best friend planned a full day at the spa today for a belated birthday gift-where I was pampered with the gift of massage. True heaven. What a friend.

After our treatments we relaxed at the rooftop pool deck on two lounge chairs in the sun, chatting about life, which involved various health struggles for us both. This thirteen year friendship has seen numerous ups and downs, joys and sorrows, celebrations and losses. Today seemed to be a glass overflowing kind of day which was good for us both to let loose and laugh at the challenges presented to us rather than cry, like some days bring.

Both of us agreed though that we were not just innocent victims in our health journeys. The more we learn about all the back stories that usually go in to making the recipe for a health crisis or challenge in others lives, the more we agreed that WE ourselves had much to do with their makings.

For two gals who have done what we feel to be extensive work on ourselves and our bodies in the past few years-why weren’t we in the place of perfect health?

While we both agreed that excess alcohol and severely poor food choices in the past were among the pitfalls in both of our lives, we also came to the conclusion that emotional blockages are still a major source of why we are not healing completely.

I just find it to be a severe challenge to go back in one’s memory bank to uncover possible emotional traumas that can possibly play a huge part in the healing process.

She agreed.

For being two pretty self aware individuals who’ve done countless hours of physical and emotional work as well as therapy-could there be more still to uncover? Unsettled business that hasn’t been dealt with yet that could be halting the healing process in each of our lives?

We both think that possibly hypnosis might be something to look into. Might just help us get into that brain state where we can go deeper beyond where we have gone before.

More than anything, spending time with her today was true medicine for my soul. The power of laughter is as good as any bone broth-and I am a lucky, blessed girl who got them BOTH in one day.

FEEL GOOD MOMENT OF THE DAY: Letting others care for me today-through the gift of massage as well as laughter-both equally important parts of this journey.

What’s your feel good moment for today?
