19 Easy Ways To Detox Your Body From Chemicals, Toxins & Heavy Metals

Detoxification-Colon-CleanseAs many of you know Kate and I are doing some cleansing and detoxification before we even conceive a child. Since she works as a hair stylist (only until our show can support us) and I’m exposed to toxins of all kinds we want to prepare to have the healthiest child ever.

She’s exposed phthalates, PCBs, xeno estrogens and heavy metals from working with hair dyes and hair colors. It’s really toxic and that’s why many hair stylists end up having health issues or are forced to get out of their job all together.

There was a study a few years back that said the umbilical chord of the average American baby has over 200 known chemicals in it. Isn’t that amazing? We’re putting our babies behind the proverbial 8 ball before they’re even born!

Instead we should be doing our best to learn how to have the healthiest babies possible.

So as much as we can we’re going to do our best to limit that number.

Why are we doing this?

Simple.

The less chemicals get passed down to our children the less health issues they’ll have. In our interview with April Renee she was saying that studies have shown a correlation (she used the word “cause”) between diseases of all types like cancer, to heavy metals found in vaccines.

Whatever the case, less chemicals, toxins and heavy metals means less ADD, ADHD, Autism, Alzheimer’s Disease, Cancer, Heart Attacks, learning disabilities and behavioral issues our children will have.

Makes sense right?

Below I’ll list some ways that we have been detoxifying our bodies to prepare. This list is in no way exhaustive but it’s something to start with in your own life if you want to prevent and reverse catastrophic disease.

Practices

Skin brushing

Skin brushing is a great way to increase the lyphatic flow of the body. It removes dead skin from the surface of the skin which opens up the pores allowing you to sweat better.

Skin brushing also increases circulation and improves your skin in a huge way. I’m a big fan of it. It takes 30 seconds to do and it feels amazing.

Clay baths

The ancients used clay baths to draw out toxins through their skin for centuries. Every mammal on earth eats clay and using it in a bath helps to pull toxins through the skin. It’s a very powerful practice that you should look into if your’e serious about cleansing.

Massages

Getting a massage is incredible for increasing blood circulation and lyphatic flow of the body. It helps to detoxify the body in a huge way.

Herbal Cleanses

Sometimes people wonder what the difference between going on an herbal cleans is vs doing a colonic or an enema. It is my understanding that generally enemas target the liver, colonics target the large intestines and herbal cleanses target the small intestines as well as other key glands and organs depending on the actual herbal cleanse itself.

I am a huge proponent of doing at least 1 herbal cleanse per year. There are two that I recommend. One is called the Ejuva Cleanse and the other is called The Clean Program. We’ve interviewed both Dr. Charles Partito as well as Dr. Alejandro Junger and found them both to be fascinating.

Colonics

Recently I was reading a book called Colon Health by Dr. Norman Walker and his practice was to do a series of two colonics twice per year until you die. Each series of colonics would consist of 6 individual 1 hour sessions with a colon hydro-therapist. I highly recommend reading that book.

Colonics are an incredible way to wash out the inside walls of your large intestine. They’re some of the most cleansing and detoxifying things you can do. They’re great for weight loss and I’ve heard of people “dropping their lining” and losing just shy of 10 pounds in a single session. Obviously this isn’t the norm but I would HIGHLY recommend you start doing them twice a year!

Enemas

Enemas are not as powerful as colonics but they are something you can learn to do at home and I’ve heard lots of natural doctors say that they can be done twice a week. Some people use MMS, coffee, ozone and more. You can use all kinds of things in an emema. Most people just use water.

Your skin, hair and nails will be radiant when you do them. They help to cleanse the liver gall bladder and make you feel amazing!

Air purifiers

Having clean air inside your home is critical for cleansing. If we’re breathing toxic air what good is it to cleanse in other ways only to be making the problem of toxicity worse with each breath?

I recommend getting these plants to use inside your home as well as an Austin Air Purifier.

Trust me, you’ll be glad you did.

Nebulizers

Nebulizers (sometimes they’re calle misters or atomizers) are a great tool that we can hijack from the alopathic medical community to benefit our health. Doctors and the pharmecutical industry wants us to use their drugs and medications but we can use substances like MMS, silver and other great things to help detoxify our lungs.

The nebulizer that we recommend is called The Omron Nebulizer.

The particles go directly into our lungs and blood stream. If you know how to do it, they’re very cleansing and a great way to get medicine directly to the lungs of a person.

Sweating

Sweating is an essential part of our life. As I type this Kate is sitting in our Relax FAR Infrared Sauna. I HIGHLY recommend using this incredible machine. I won’t get into it here but only say that sweating works! They’ve actually tested the sweat of people using the Relax Sauna and it’s filled with heavy metals. This is what is correlated to cancers, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Even if you can’t get a sauna, get outside and sweat. It’s incredibly detoxifying to the body.

Meditation

Meditation is an emotional tool we can use to calm our minds and detoxify our bodies from “mental noise” we all having going on in our heads. Being in our head all day long, creating drama and thus stress, is akin to eating (in my opinion) a Big Mac or a pizza.

Meditation through calming your mind and focusing on your breath, helps to release all of that stress, worry and anxiety which allows our bodies to prevent disease.

I highly recommend it. I meditate for about 10 minutes each night before bed and I’m addicted.

Exercises

Rebounding

Rebounding (think of a mini trampoline) is the only way to detox the lymphatic system completely. There are millions of one way valves that open and close when the lymph system goes up and down. There is no pump for the lymphatic system. And most toxins, chemicals and poisons get stored there. This is one of the reasons why many people get lymphatic cancers.

Kate and I recommend the Bellicon only because it’s the best rebounder on the market bar none.

Walking

The most natural exercise to improve blood circulation, increase endorphins and help you to feel better is the simple act of walking. Ask any person who knows anything about longevity and they’ll all say walking is human’s most natural exercise.

Who would have thought?

But walking is incredibly detoxifying because it helps to bring red and white blood cells to all areas of your body. Kate and I walk our dog Maggie 2 or 3 times a day for about 20 minutes each. I also walk to the gym (30 minutes round trip) 3 times a week also.

Then if we have time (and especially in the spring and summer months) we’ll take a long walk by ourselves along the beach where we live.

Yoga

Kate and I like to do hot yoga. It’s not Bikram but the room is about 104 degrees and you sweat an incredible amount. We like to do this style of yoga at least twice a week. Yoga is a great practice because it feels like you’re getting a massage and a workout all in one.

It’s amazing.

Yoga is almost like a meditation and helps to increase circulation to all areas of your body. It also increases endorphins and is incredibly detoxifying to the body on many levels.

Lifting Weights

I know many people wouldn’t list weight lifting as a way to detoxify but it is. Lifting weights puts a strain on your body and increases muscle mass which helps you to lose weight in the form of fat cells. And we all know that fat cells also store toxins. By losing weight (as a result of building muscle) we help to detoxify the body from these fat cells.

I am a gym rat and love pushing my body as hard as I can go to see what’s possible. I HIGHLY encourage you to begin a regular workout routine where you lift weights.

Substances To Consume

Green juices

Kate and I drink about 16 ounces or more of fresh raw vegetable juice per day. Most people call it green juice. The only sweet things we put in there are 1 or 2 green apples (lower in sugar), 1 carrot and maybe 1/4 of a beet.

Green juices have enzymes, phyto nutritients (also called micro nutritients) minerals and are highly alkaline and deliver deep nutrition directly to the cells of our bodies.

If you’re interested in doing a juice cleanse many people are doing them these days with incredible success.

Because juicing is not a whole food it’s important to be careful to not juice fruit (too sugary) and make sure it’s organic. It’s very concentrated and can be used as medicine but it has to be done properly. Many people fast on green juice to lose weight, reverse disease and as a result, change their entire life.

Green juices are amazing and we highly recommend you add them to your daily detoxification protocols.

Clay internally

Clay can be used in so many ways. Dr. Bob Marshall uses clay packs to release blocked energy flows in the body due to scars and injury traumas. You can ingest clay in your smoothies and even put them in your baths.

We recommend adding clay into your life in as many creative ways as you can to pull out toxins. Clays are so finely particulated that their surface area alone helps to pull toxins from the body. Add to that the fact that they’re magnetic and absorb these chemicals and pull them out of the body.

Lots of water

Dr. Bob Marshall says we should be consuming 1 ounce per pound of body weight in water on a daily basis. This helps to thoroughly bathe the cells and keep every tissue and organ hydrated so they’ll work properly.

Water is key. Upon rising I’ll drink 20 ounces or more of fresh spring water with lemon juice in it. If you can’t find a spring in your area we recommend Friends of Water as a great resources for cutting edge water purification products.

Glutathione

Glutathione has been called the master anti oxidant and the most powerful thing for detoxifying your body. Glutathione is extremely powerful and you can take supplements of this in pill form. Our bodies make glutathione but our levels can be depleted due to stress, lack of sleep, diet and toxic life style habits.

Consider getting some glutathione and start taking it on a regular basis to keep your body as healthy as it can be!

So there you have it. 19 ways to detoxify our bodies. Obviously it’s not easy to implement all of these approaches at once. But you can start with a couple of them and begin adding more and more to your daily lifestyle as you become more comfortable with each of them.

    Healthiest baby ever? Way to keep the bar high. Please settle for the best you can do. Having children is learning the art of letting go, of yielding, of allowing them to be themselves. It is a very competitive sport unfortunately.

    You will always strive to keep your children healthy and happy, better to take a bit of pressure off yourself now- you are never going to have the healthiest baby ever- you don’t live in the Himalayas.

I’ve recently realised that cleaning and personal care products have been making me ill, very ill actually to the point of only existing doctors keep giving me more chemicals and have found a fancy name for my illness yet the only thing that has helped me up to now has been changing all household and personal care products!       N-Acytel Cysteine should be used for Glutathione production. Also, it is great at protecting the liver from Tylenol ingestion, helps with OCD/addiction issues.

      Magnesium taken before ingesting NSAID’s will help to protect the lining of the stomach. Magnesium Gluconate is one of the best for the body.

    I’m doing or have did most of all the things listed above. I still have multiple allergies and now I can’t wear any jewelry. Tired of this!!! I was working in a mold and asbestos for 13 years. I’m seeing environmental doctors. I’m off of sugar. Now I’m going off of bread again.
