Dr. Doug Lehrer joined Kate and I today to talk about a topic that we rarely get to speak about on Extreme Health Radio. That is getting more in touch with the feminine side of our personalities.

Because we live in patriarchal society mostly dominated by men, we’ve lost touch with many of the aspects that make us human.

We’ve lost touch with the feminine energy of the heart. Men don’t know how to be men anymore. It doesn’t have anything to do with masculinity, bravado or machismo. It doesn’t have anything to do with not crying or acting tough.

We are disconnected from our bodies and our hearts. We don’t feel emotions anymore. We’ve lost that ability to feel with our hearts and we’ve replaced it with always being in our head using rationality and logic to create the foundation of our lives.

There’s nothing wrong with either energy, masculine or feminine. They just need to be balanced and we need to understand how to use these distinct and unique energy for each particular situation.

I thought Dr. Doug Lehrer’s point of the women’s empowerment movement was right on point. He talked about how women and trying to empower themselves with the same mindset and playing the same game men are.

It’s okay for men to be vulnerable and to cry. And it’s also okay to be the warrior. We all possess both the good and the less than good traits of both sexes and it’s important to understand how to balance them for optimal health and healing.
