For those that don’t know Dr. Ronald Goldman is the author of Questioning Circumcision: A Jewish Perspective along with his more recent book which I really want to read called, Circumcision, The Hidden Trauma : How an American Cultural Practice Affects Infants and Ultimately Us All

Kate and I talked at the very end about what we would do if we had a son.

Dr. Goldman argues that this is an area of the body that we are designed to have and not to cut off in a barbaric surgery.

I argued during the show that our entire culture is very mechanistic in our approach to the human body. We look at the body as a machine. Unfortunately for these western medical doctors they don’t realize that the body works as whole holistic unit.

The body is less like a machine and more like an 3 dimensional hologram moving through space time. It’s my contention that..

The body is more like an 3 dimensional energetic ecosystem and less like a car.

Why do people get circumcised?

That’s a good question. Many people perform this act on their helpless defenseless children out of cultural and religious ideologies that were passed down to them by their parents.

It takes a special individual to stop and take a good hard look at what they’re subjecting their sons to. Because if you do that, you end up calling into question many of our cultural biases and beliefs.

It’s much easier to do the popular thing than it is to change how we view the world and our place in it.

We talked about where circumcision came from and why we do it. We talked about how it affects the baby on an emotional, spiritual and physical levels.

We talked about foreskin restoration programs that many men are looking into. The only issue with that is as far as I know, you’re not going to regrow nerve endings or the sebaceous glands that secret lubrication during sex.
