Some Foods To Avoid For Acid Reflux & How I Cured My Indigestion

burn-gerd-man-bed-400x400Ever since I was about 21 or 22 years old I’ve had these strange stomach issues. I never knew what it was or what caused them. After I would eat I would feel a tightness in my solar plexus (where my stomach is). It would feel like some one was putting lots of pressure right where my rib cage met in the middle of my chest.

It felt very uncomfortable. The pressure and tightness would build as the day wore on. Later I learned this was probably because the food was rotting in my stomach and as the day continues on, we produce less and less hydrochloric acid to break down food.

It makes sense because from a biological perspective we’re not supposed to be eating really heavy meals at 9pm in the evening. We’re supposed to be sleeping.

When we have heartburn, acid reflux or indigestion we need to take WARNING. It’s our body’s way of telling us something is wrong with our digestion.

“Big deal” you might think.

Think again…

It’s been said and proven that “Death begins in the colon“. All disease has at its root, the inability to digest, assimilate and absorb the nutrients from the food we eat. A recent guest mentioned that 70% of visits to the doctors office is for some sort of digestive distress.

Think about how rampant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is or how about other diseases like colitis, Crohn’s disease, hemorrhoids, leaky gut, autoimmune diseases and more. These conditions are all related to digestion.

So make sure to listen to your body. It’s giving you a stern warning….PAY ATTENTION and fix this problem, if you want to live.

Fixing acid reflux is going to be a systematic “chronic” approach that happens gradually over months or even years. There is no quick fix or band aid where you snap your fingers and it goes away.

Remove that whole way of thinking from your mind.

It took you years to destroy your body, let’s not try to fix it over night.

So here’s a list of some foods to avoid for acid reflux…

  • Soy products
  • Blackberries
  • Cranberries
  • Prunes
  • Beef
  • Pork
  • Shellfish
  • Cheese
  • Ice-cream
  • Pecans
  • Cashews
  • White Rice
  • White bread
  • Corn
  • Wheat products
  • Any foods containing phytic acid

How I Got Rid Of My Indigestion

I won’t say I ever got rid of it. If I don’t follow the principles outlined in the ebook Heartburn No More by Jeff Martin then I can struggle with it from time to time.

I’ve known about Jeff Martin’s ebook Heartburn No More for years and after one particularly bad case of it I broke down and bought it. The great thing is that people usually buy this book at the very moment when they’re in really bad pain and they can download the book immediately.

I downloaded it in the day time and went right to the health food store and bought some apple cider vinegar, baking soda, raw honey, coconut oil, activated charcoal, powdered L-Glutamine, mastic gum, aloe vera juice and more.

So if you are dealing with acid reflux, indigestion (like I was), or sour stomach issues I would highly recommend getting a copy of Heartburn No More and start reading and following his advice as I found great value from it.

Then I would purchase the 4 hour DVD by Dr. Steven Hines called Learn How To Treat Yourself. This DVD is incredible and it’ll show you how digestion works in the human body. It’s brilliant!

And if you’d like you can read my article for some other tips on improving digestion.

Start looking into liver cleansing, colonics, enemas and even 30 day herbal cleanses.

If you don’t look after digestion and getting proactive with it, it will eventually cause disease in your body.

Think of GERD or acid reflux as Nature’s warning to you. Think of it as a wake up call. Your body is trying to tell you something. Don’t wait until you get a stomach cancer or colon cancer diagnosis before you wake up and realize you’ve got an uphill battle to do with cancer.

Don’t wait that long. These symptoms of acid reflux are like somebody warning you that a mile up the road there’s a police officer on the side of the road waiting to give you a ticket.

Don’t you think you’d slow down?

Of course you would. So why would we change our actions to avoid a $50 speeding ticket but not change our diet and lifestyle in order to avoid a cancer diagnosis?

Let me know how the products I mention work for you!
