burn-gerd-man-bed-400x400Ever since I was about 21 or 22 years old I’ve had these strange stomach issues. I never knew what it was or what caused them. After I would eat I would feel a tightness in my solar plexus (where my stomach is). It would feel like some one was putting lots of pressure right where my rib cage met in the middle of my chest.

It felt very uncomfortable. The pressure and tightness would build as the day wore on. Later I learned this was probably because the food was rotting in my stomach and as the day continues on, we produce less and less hydrochloric acid to break down food.

It makes sense because from a biological perspective we’re not supposed to be eating really heavy meals at 9pm in the evening. We’re supposed to be sleeping.

When we have heartburn, acid reflux or indigestion we need to take WARNING. It’s our body’s way of telling us something is wrong with our digestion.
