How To Increase Bone Density & Reverse Osteoporosis Naturally

I’m going to do my best to keep this article short and to the point. I don’t want to include lots of unnecessary information if possible.

If you’d like the quick version you can scroll to the bottom, read “The Takeaway” and watch the funny videos (excuse Chris Rock’s language).

Having said that I’d like to lay a little groundwork…

There are a lot of strategies you could employ that work. They work whether you have already been diagnosed with osteoporosis or you’ve seen it run in your family and simply want to prevent the condition from forming later on in life.

Preventative medicine is always the best. The Chinese have called preventative herbs, “tonics” which is always considered superior medicine. They are herbs you can take every day for the rest of your life. They’re your tonic. Inferior medicine rises as a necessary reaction for not taking care of yourself every day and now you need something to fix it.

Prevention is the superior medicine. Prevention is the key.

This isn’t a disease that is natural. It’s a result of eating a poor diet for our entire lives along with living an acidic lifestyle.

Side Effects Of Common Osteoporosis Drugs

Most of the population has relegated themselves to the idea that having brittle bones, getting hip replacements and fracturing their bones when they fall are all a normal part of the aging process. It’s not. These are not normal conditions at all.

When people fall with they get older, most of the time they’re hip breaks and THEN they fall. That is, they fall as a result of their hip bones no longer being strong enough to enable them to stand upright. What a sad state. Don’t let that happen to you.

When you look at indigenous cultures like those in Japan or even more tribal cultures like the Maasai in Africa, you don’t find these types of chronic degenerative diseases.

Some of the common drugs to deal with low bone density and osteoporosis are “bisphosphonates” which are popular drugs like Fosamax, Actonel, Boniva and Reclast. Then there’s Calcitonin, Teriparatide (Forteo) and even Estrogen replacement therapy (ERT).

Here are some common side effects of Boniva if you’d like to take a look.

Here’s a list of some of the common side effects of Boniva:

  1. High blood pressure
  2. Heart palpitations
  3. Severe kidney disease
  4. Joint, or muscle pain
  5. Severe jaw bone problems
  6. Thigh bone fractures
  7. Back pain
  8. Heartburn
  9. Stomach area pain
  10. Pain in the arms or legs
  11. Diarrhea
  12. Headache
  13. Muscle pain
  14. Flu-like symptoms
  15. Painful swallowing
  16. Chest pain
  17. Severe or continuing heartburn, as these may be signs of serious
  18. Upper digestive problems
  19. Severe bone, joint, muscle, thigh and/or groin pain

That’s 19 different health side effects with just one drug. Sometimes people (maybe even you) are on multiple drugs that have never been tested in conjunction with one another. It’s time to get off all pharmaceutical medications starting as soon as possible in a slow and gentle way.

Why are there side effects to these medications?

The reason is because about 80% of all drugs come from plants. Their alkaloids (the medicinal and often bitter parts) are removed, isolated, concentrated, synthesized and added to other chemical ingredients which make up your pill or tablet. When these plant poisons (alkaloids) are removed from their constituent buffer compounds, not only do they not work correctly but they don’t have the buffer ingredients to help mitigate the reactions our bodies have to them.

Add to that the fact that they super concentrate the alkaloids and synthesize them. That’s why they can kill you if you mix them with other drugs or don’t take follow the prescriptions on the label of the bottle.

Countries With Highest Rates Of Osteoporosis

According to the work of T. Colin Campbell author of The China Study the highest countries with osteoporosis are the norther European and Scandinavian coutries which also have the highest consumption of dairy products. This is referenced in chapter 10 on page 204-209 if you’re interested in learning more.

At the very least this shows us that eating calcium doesn’t necessarily turn into calcium in the human body.

Things & Food To Avoid

Conventional animal products and milk. I drink raw milk every so often from Organic Pastures and the meat I eat occasionally is organic, 100% grass fed and sometimes raw. You’ll also want to avoid any foods you have an allergy to. Generally these include, wheat, sugar, soy and dairy.

Obviously you’ll want to avoid smoking, alcohol, and limit caffeine.

As you can imagine deleting these foods from your diet pretty much eliminates 98% of the standard American diet, oftentimes called the S.A.D diet.

But if you want results this is what you need to do. You need to radically change your diet and lifestyle to get the results you’re looking for.

Foods To Add In

According to Susun Weed, nourashing herbal infusions are one of the best ways to rebuild bone minerization in the body.

Bones need protein and these 5 herbs are some of the highest in protein on the planet. Each night you poor boiling water over these herbs in a mason jar and let it sit all night for the infusion. The next morning simply strain the herbs and drink this concoction each day and you’ll get amazing immune system results along with building stronger bones.

You can get the herbs for this here.

The 5 herbs you’ll be using are:

  • Oatstraw (Avena sativa)
  • Nettle (Urtica dioica)
  • Red clover (Trifolium pratense)
  • Comfrey leaves (Symphytum uplandica x)
  • Linden flower

Some other foods to add into your diet are:

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is not really a food or mineral but a secosteroid. You can buy vitamin D supplements on the market and even do a lot of research as to the many healing and health benefits of this particular “vitamin.” If you’re looking for more information about the healing benefits of Vitamin D I’d suggest you read, The Vitamin D Solution by Dr. Michael F. Holick. I think you’ll really enjoy that one.

I suggest getting a good amount of sunlight every day without wearing sun screen or sun glasses.

Calcium

In the western world we made a grave error many years ago. When we examined the bones of cadavers, we found calcium in their bones. Naturally we thought that we need to eat foods that had calcium in it. What the scientists failed to realize is how biological transmutation (see the work of: Louis Kervran) factors into how calcium is actually created in our bodies.

Calcium is actually the end chain of reactions of two primary minerals which are magnesium and silica. Think of silica being like the bamboo plant or the flexible newborn baby. Think of calcium being the stiff and brittle dead tree or 100 year old person. When magnesium and silica are in sufficient levels in the body, they actually biologically trans-mutate into calcium.

What foods are good for magnesium and silica? Horsetail, nettle, raw cacao (chocolate), magnesium supplements or oil can be applied transdermally to the skin each day.

The Acid/Alkaline Balance

Why is this balance important? When our blood (which will do anything to stay at a regular ph of neutral which is around 7.0) starts to get out of balance, it will pull calcium from the bones in order to stay neutral. The bones can sustain this type of depletion but only for so long.

When this happens at 30 it’s not a big deal. But as the years go on it becomes an ever increasing problem and shows up as osteoporosis, osteopenia, kyphosis, spinal curvatures and more.

You can learn more about the alkaline diet by reading The PH Miracleby Dr. Robert Young. Some alkaline foods you can start eating are foods like green leafy vegetables, sprouts and green plants. You can even alkalinize your water with PH drops. I caution you to only do this for a while to get out of your current state, not as a lifestyle.

Grounding

Being electrically grounded to the earth’s ambient magnetic charge allows the body to re-calibrate to what’s normal. Similar to a clock that needs to be reset because left alone over a long period of time, will be off by a few minutes. The body is the same way.

Grounding the body has many health benefits that are just being discovered. Ancient cultures have known this intuitively for centuries. But being able to reset our immune system by taking in the electical charge of the earth is very healing. This is why you get sick and often get jet lag from flying in airplanes at 32,000 feet off the ground. When we’re not connected to the earth there’s an electrical chaos that happens internally that our bodies and immune system must deal with.

If you’d like to learn more about grounding you can check out the grounding website and the book called Earthing by Clint Ober.

Exercises For Osteoporosis

The benefits of rebounding cannot be overstated when it comes to being able to build bone density. Read the article on the benefits of rebounding for more information on that. NASA did studies where they were able to rebuild bone density of astronauts who came back from being in space for 14 days.

The other way to build bone density is lifting heavy weights at the gym. I know we don’t like to do that but it helps tremendously and fits well into an overall approach for preventing osteoporosis and healing bone density issues naturally.

If getting low bone density is something that is on your mind or if you already have it, I highly suggest you go get your bone density checked, then start a program like the one mentioned in this article and then get another checkup from your doctor in a year to see the results.

I’m sure you’ll be amazed.

  • Betty says:

Hi, Recently I had an mri’s with and without contrast and a bone density scan. The density result was 40% loss, -3.65. The mri’s showed what has been labeled as Schmorl Nodes in numerous places. It’s my understanding that schmorl nodes is actually deviated herniated discs. I’m female, age 67 who generally feels, thinks and lives an under 50 lifestyle. Now I’m scared, depressed and worried. I should mention that I was diagnosed as having scoliosis, osteoporosis and now schmorl nodes. Can these things be reversed, cured without prescription drugs? Will what you’ve posted here work for me? I’m on a fixed income with little income and even less remaining as extra for diets, herbs, vitamins and minerals. I want to be well, can you please help me?

    • Hi Betty! I don’t know about your situation but in general, my belief is that everything can be reversed with the right mindset, intention and plan. Start with the cheapest things we’ve mentioned here and move up from there. Obviously I cannot give medical advice but if I had your condition the first thing I would add in is weight bearing exercise at a gym with a qualified trainer if that’s possible.
