How I Talk To My Body During This Simple Daily Practice (Video)

I’m going to share with you something in the post that will probably make you label me as insane. I’m also going to tie together a couple of ideas to help you in your own health practice.

About 10 years ago when I was a raw foodist I remember our friend David Wolfe mentioning a book called The Secret Life Of Plants and how plants can communicate with each other. I thought he was way off the mark but something inside me resonated with what he said.

Then recently I watched a documentary called What Plants Talk About which you can watch below. That got me hooked into the ideas of Masaru Emoto who wrote the famous book called The Messages In Water.

From my perspective talking to things like our organs, our babies, our plants or our dogs seems to make sense. Somehow, in some strange way there seems to be an energy transfer that’s happening with communication is happening. So to talk to my body and talk to my organs seems just a rational as talking to God. Hey, at least our organs are visible! ๐Ÿ™‚

So with that said, I admit it, I talk to my body. I talk to my organs and I do it everyday. I regularly use the ideas and positive affirmations of people like Louise Hay to speak directly to my organs.

For those that are familiar there’s something that’s quite popular these days called Tapping or emotional freedom technique. We’ve had Jessica Ortner on the show a while back who’s one of the people pioneering this whole Tapping movement.

This EFT practice marries the worlds of affirmations, psychology, personal development and mindset with ancient Chinese acupuncture and their ideas of the energetic meridian points in the body.

So I’d like to make my own little combination…

I like to do skin brushing every day. Skin brushing helps to increase lymphatic drainage and circulation. My favorite time to skin brush is before my rebounding session on Bellicon mini trampoline. After I’m done jumping up and down on that I go into my FAR infrared sauna for 30 minutes.

This is a great way to improve lymphatic circulation and flow.

But quite some time ago I started talking to my body and my organs during my skin brushing and made it into a meditative ritual of gratitude.

If you skin brush try this out. Simply speak positive affirmations and words of appreciation to each organ, leg, arm or tissue that you’re skin brushing.

For me it’s a great way to stay present, be in the moment while thanking God and my body for being able to have this experience in human flesh. You could pray during this time as well. It helps to bring in some mindful reflection to a practice that could easily be something you would rush to get through.

Try it out and let me know what you think!
