Andrea James joined us from Justice As Healing and Career Roadmap For Girls.
She’s the author of a really interesting book called Upper Bunkies Unite: And Other Thoughts On the Politics of Mass Incarceration.
We talked about what’s going on with the prison system here in the united states and how we are a nation hell bent on getting as many people as we possibly can (mostly poor) into prison in order to make money.
Then once they get out, we make it incredibly difficult for them to find work, which exacerbates the problem.
Andrea made some really interesting points about all the problems with our prison system.
So I’m curious about what you think. Do you think 25 years for a first time offender for selling marijuana is a bit excessive? I think so.
We talked about a whole host of interesting ideas many of which might be too radical for your world view but I would offer for you to simply hear us out.
All I can say is that the current system just isn’t working and we need to find a better way of dealing with what the government calls “crimes”
During the show we mentioned a new service we’re using called Patreon which allows you to donate to our podcast on a per show basis. You can even donate less than a dollar per show. Would you consider supporting the free content we’re producing? Kate and I would be so grateful! 🙂
He’s doing some great things and we hope you like this show. Pass it on to your friends please!!!
I hope you liked the show. If you did, please share it! 🙂

Hey guys, love your show as always. I am a long time listener and supporter btw 🙂 Last year, Creditors in Commerce was mentioned and I wanted to usher in a couple teachers with that same realm, that would make excellent guests and spread the truth! Here’s Peter Eugene’s websites, http://www.consciousconsumernetwork.tv, Privatis.me, he’s from Colorado, I believe, he’s 55 super healthy and knows law. A EXCELLENT teacher with over 10 years of experience with courts, officers, teaching seminars etc is Dean Clifford, he’s from Canada, check out deanclifford.info <3 you guys!
Hey Kaleb! That’s awesome thanks for the links. We are going to be moving towards a wide variety of shows in the future (while still doing shows on alternative health) so these names are great. I’ll look into them!
What a wonderful show! This lady is awe inspiring.
Here is an interesting article on a humane facility in Norway – food for thought.
