Day #13 - Improving Bowel Function

Today is the 2nd to last day my friend!
Healthy bacteria.
We live in a world that's "bacteria phobic". We kill all bacteria not realizing that over 80% of our immune system is in our gut and directly tied the amount of bacteria we have in there.
It's been said that a healthy human should have over 1000 different species (not the total number, just the different species!) of bacteria in their gut. Studies show we have less than 300. That means we've lost 70% of our immune system.
How is this happening?
Stress
Glyphosate
Chemicals and toxins
Antibiotics
Birth control
Medications
Vaccines
Flu shots
Hormone rich foods
And much more...
No wonder why 80% of all doctors visits have to do with stomach pain. We're killing the very things that allow us to create life.

Day #12 - Improving Bowel Function
Hello again!
How are you holding up for Day #12? We're almost done friends.

Today your task is to start incorporating coffee enemas and colonics into your life. What I like to do personally is to do a coffee enema once per week (usually Sunday) and once per year do a series of colonics.
Colonics...
According to Dr. Norman Walker he recommended a series of 6 twice per year. This could be in January and July. Week 1 you could do 2 colonics and repeat for weeks 2 and 3 or do 3 colonics for 2 weeks, or you could even do 1 colonic daily for 6 days if that works for your schedule.
With the amount of chemicals, toxins, poisons, hormones in food, environmental pollution and EMF radiation, cleansing is more important than nutrition.
The title of Dr. Sherry Rogers's book is apropos, Detoxify or Die!

What do you do if you have digestive issues because of certain conditions? What if you've had gastric bypass surgery or you've had your appendix or gall bladder removed?
You can't go back and undo something like a surgery right? And you shouldn't just throw up your arms thinking there's nothing at all that you can do.
There are things you can do for each of these digestive challenges.

Day #10 - Stimulate the Parasympathetic

Day #10 we're more than halfway done!!
Did you know that there are now studies that show digestion actually begins when we smell food and when we look at it?
It's so important to create a space, a time (even if you only have 10 minutes to eat) to slow down, to breathe and to give thanks for your food.
Even if you don't believe in God, the very act of slowing down and treating to meal time as a sacred will begin to cause the peristalsis to begin as your salivary glands begin to create enzymes anticipating the meal you're about to consume.
Native cultures connected to the earth from around the world didn't eat junk food or fast food. They gave thanks for their meals, the very substance of their life. They were connected to the cycles of life through the food they ate.
In order to regain our health and our digestion we must give thanks for the meals that we create our cells from.
Instructions: For one of your meals today sit down, close your eyes, take a deep breath at least 5 times while thanking the food, God or the Universe (or all the above) for allowing you to continue to live by consuming your meal. Giving thanks is powerful. Day #9 - Structure and Function
Hi friends!
Today is Day #9! How is the challenge going so far for you? I hope great!
Movement and manual stimulation.
Today is all about manual stimulation of your digestive tract. Sometimes we need to manually manipulate our bodies to improve certain functions.
Getting a massage of your stomach is very powerful as is rebounding and even applying direct heat that will penetrate a few inches below the skin to reduce inflammation and increase blood flow.
Taking a walk about 30 minutes after you eat along with rubbing your stomach in a clockwise way will help stimulate peristalsis in the digestive tract.
Instructions: Perform one of these actions today whether it's taking a walk, applying heat, rebounding or simply doing a manual massage of your stomach after you eat. Take a picture of that and use the hashtag #ExtremeHealthChallenge and show us what you're doing!

Day #8 - Savory Sauces For Digestion

A great way get people to switch to healthy diet is to make healthy foods that not only taste good but are gut friendly as well.
People think plant based is tasteless and boring, but you can have healthy, delicious, and savory food if you know how to make it.
In today's video Dr. Bergman shows how to make a really great "almost" raw savory dressing that can be used in a bunch of different ways.
You could use this on wraps, in dips for chips, on hamburgers and so much more.
Health food like this has enzymes, minerals and probiotics in it that help repair your gut!

Today is Day #7 my friends I hope you're enjoying this health challenge!
Dairy alternatives.
Dairy these days is incredibly bad for your health. Cows are fed grains, corn and even more disgusting things I'd rather not even mention! On top of that they're pumped full of hormones and drinking their milk is very damaging to particularly our endocrine systems.
Some people say it's rocket fuel for cancer.
Because most people are dealing with leaky gut and other digestive issues, it's even advised to avoid organic, raw, grass fed cow milk.
Even grass fed cows are concentrating acids from the rain which also includes chemtrail poisons, heavy metals and much more.
So what do we do?
We make our own milk of course!
These days you can make so many dairy alternatives that are delicious.
Here's a list of some choices...
Hemp
Almond
Walnut
Pistachio
Pecan
Hazelnut
Brazil nut
Macadamia
Rice
Flax
Cashew
Coconut
If you're still determined you can do an raw, organic goat milk or better yet sheep milk which is becoming more and more popular.
Cow milk is incredibly damaging for your gut health and we adivise you to find some alternatives that work best for you and your body.

Day #6 - Flour Alternatives For Your Gut
Hello!
We're humming right along for day #6 of this challenge. How are you going so far?
Many of the gut and digestive issues people are having these days are coming from gluten. Gluten free is huge today and it's because gluten is wreaking havoc on our intenstinal villi and destroying our guts.
On top of that, most wheat products are sprayed with GMO's and glyphosates that cause their own set of problems.
The other issue with standard white bread is that many years ago bread actually had iodine in it which promoted thyroid and hormone health. The issue with that was the bread was brown in color and people wanted to eat white bread.
So they removed the iodine (which was healthy) and added potassium bromide which has a tremendous negative impact on thyroid function.
It's a double whammy, removing something good and replacing it with something very harmful.
So what do we do?
Fortunately there are so many wheat flour alternatives like...
Almond flour
Coconut flour
Garbanzo bean flour
Rice flour
Tapioca flour
And so many more.
Since all disease begins in the gut, we must stop the damage that we're causing with each and every meal we consume.
We must find alternatives to wheat flour that works for us.
Instructions: Make a recipe of your choice and replace wheat flour with a more natural alternative like some of the options listed above. Day #5 - Healthy Desserts
Hey friends,
Sweets!
We all know how bad sugar is for our gut health but did you know there are many natural and alternative sweeteners out there like...
Fruits
Dates
Stevia
Monk fruit
Xylitol
Erythritol
Honey
Maple syrup
Yacon syrup
For recipes that call for sugar...
My personal tip is to use as much stevia as you can and then top it off with a "real" sweetener like honey or maple syrup so you don't get a weird stevia aftertaste. For me that' looks like 95% stevia and 5% maple sugar.
This way you get the flavor or real sweetness with out too much sugar!
Instructions: Go online and find a raw vegan desert recipe and take a picture of it.

Day #4 - Plant Based Recipe
Hello again!
Okay today is Day #4 how are you holding up?
Plant based recipes. Make sure to check out this awesome dish Dr. Bergman made in the video on the website!
We like to advocate a low sugar, low meat, plant based diet. Does this mean we don't eat meat? Certainly not.
But we do like to focus on plant foods for the majority of our recipes.
I challene you to limit your meat consumption and maybe only allow yourself to eat meat a few times a month.
I (Justin) try to limit my consumption of meats although I do eat animal based foods like eggs, raw cheese, bee products of all sorts, elk antler etc.
So we invite you to limit your consumption of meats. Figure out on average how many days per month you eat meat and take a few days off. If it's 10x per month, try getting it to 8. And as the months continue, consider lowering it more and more slowly over time.

Day #3 - The Water Trick For Digestion
Hi!
Day #3 - Healing Leaky Gut
The water trick is an ideal practice for you to start doing every morning when you wake up.
Essentially what this entails is drinking around 16oz of warm water right when you wake and then lean over a counter and let your gut hang down and suck it in and relax.
Do this repeatedly for 3-4 minutes. This is going to mechanically force that nice warm water through your digestive tract and encourage the lining of your intestines to regrow and repair leaky gut and other bowel issues.
Instructions: First thing upon waking, drink 16oz of warm water and perform this "water trick" exercise. Post a picture of it to your Instagram, Twitter or Facebook account and tag us @extremehealthacademy with the hashtag #ExtremeHealthChallenge!

Day #2 - Intermittent Fasting
Hey again!
Today is Day #2 my friend, how was Day #1 for you? Pretty easy right?
Okay so today is all about intermittent fasting or IF as some people call it. What is IF you say? Well it's the idea of fasting every single day.
Here are some intervals people have suggested:
Eat for 3 days fast for 2
Eat 1 day and fast the next day
Eat for 5 days and fast for 2
Eat for 8 hours fast for 16
Personally I do the last one. It works best for my schedule. I like to eat around 6pm so that means I don't eat or drink anything (only water) until 10am the next morning.
This works best for my schedule. I also fast every Sunday for the entire day saving my body from having to digest 156 meals every year.
But back to IF. What are the benefits?

Better sleep

Day #1 - Juicing & Blending For Better Digestion

Today is Day #1 are you ready to improve your digestive health in 14 days?
Today we're talking about juicing and blending. When you're dealing with digestive issues it's really important to give your digestive system all the help it can in the form of food that's been liquified.
This is where juicing and blending come in.
Make sure though that when blending, you do not drink it too fast. Make sure to chew your blended drinks. Mix your saliva with your green smoothies.

Make a green juice or a blended green smoothie. If you can't make one, buy one from your local health food store.

Welcome to the April 2018 14 day Extreme Health Challenge! This health challenge is going to focused on improving the health and vitality of your digestive system.
Each day will consist of a specific task you must complete (and share with your friends on social media) in order to gain more entries for this challenge.

Hi guys! We're so excited to be creating these monthly health challenges for all of you (and for us) so we can all get healthy together as a group....and win prizes as well!! Who doesn't love that? :) This is the first time we've ever done anything like this and as with most things "tech related" there can be issues. We're working hard on resolving all these issues so the monthly challenges will only get better and better as we go through 2018 together.

How The Challenge Works!
