Don’t you hate it when you know you should do something but you purposely avoid it?

The longer you avoid something you know you should do, the more guilty you feel.

I used to have dental problems.

Whenever I’d visit a dentist (before I knew anything about the importance of oral health, teeth and gums) they would always tell me that I need to see them in 6 months for a checkup and a cleaning. Can you imagine? That’s like saying to a customer, you need to come back and buy the stereo upgrade in 6 months. They really know how to lay on the pressure.

I never really jived with that.

Every time I would sit in their chair, (as they take their dirty little tools and scrape my gums, the enamel off my teeth, poke and prod around my mouth) they would always say I had a cavity or two. Or I had too much plaque. The dentist would ask if I flossed, I’d say no.

But over the years I’ve been able to understand more the connection between the health of the teeth and gums to not only how long you live, but your state of health your entire life. That is to say, it determines whether or not you get diseases like cancer, heart disease, stroke etc.

It’s been said that the teeth are “involved” in up to 90% of all diseases. That doesn’t mean the teeth are the cause (they can be and often are) of health challenges but they’re definitely involved.

I’ve realized that when I’m in my 80’s and 90’s I don’t want dentures, crowns, or false teeth. I also don’t want to have all the health problems that arise as a results of having poor oral hygiene, not to mention dental problems like gingivitis, periodontal disease etc.

If you want to look more into holistic dentistry (sometimes called whole body dentistry) take a look at the dental interviews on this page.

Now that I understand just how important it is to keep my teeth clean I wanted to share with you a couple things I’m doing for my dental health that has given me some good results so far.

A while back I visited doctor Stuart Nunally in Texas. You can read more about that on my holistic dentistry page. The sole reason I did that was so that I could get the mercury almalgum fillings removed from my mouth so that I’d be able to use 3% food grade hydrogen peroxide to brush with each day. I was sick of having dental problems in my mouth.

You don’t want to use any kind of hydrogen peroxide to brush with if you’ve got silver fillings in your mouth as they can react to the fillings and cause it to out gas microscopic mercury vapor which could be ingested while you brush, eat or chew.

I still have a root canal on a molar that I had done on the cheap in Mexico many years ago. I also had 4 wisdom teeth that were removed back in 2000. I’ve read that between 70 and 90% of wisdom teeth extractions end up having a cavitation. A cavitation is basically an infection in the bone of the jaw that becomes sealed up by bone, cartilage and tissue that covers up the pool of poisions.

The problem with cavitations is that the body doens’t heal properly and it walls off these infections and since no tooth is there anymore, no blood flow (or white blood cells) can get to that area. The toxins that are underneath the healed tissue are extremely toxic and can spread thourghout the body in minute amounts over a long period of time. This puts tremendous strain on the immune system

Instead of your immunue system dealing with chemicals that we’re exposed to on a daily basis, or cancer cells, it has to deal with this infection in the jaw. The immune system can only do so much in terms of what it can effectively fight off.

In any event I have 4 wisdom teeth that were removed and there’s a high chance that I have cavitations in there as well.

All that being said, I’m glad that I have no mecury fillings in my mouth. Let me describe a few things I’ve been doing in order to take care of my teeth.

In the future I’m going to write a post about what kinds of things I’m doing with my diet to help fight tooth decay.

There are so many different protocols you can do each time you brush your teeth. Typically I save the most powerful for the end of the night when I go to sleep.

I brush (very gently in circular motions as well as up and down with the grain of teeth), floss and rinse with sea salt, and baking soda after each meal.

Then at night before bed I typically change up each night what I do.

Here’s one routine I do to keep healthy oral care:

Prevent Dental Problems Routine #1

Floss
Brush using a dry toothbrush as it helps to increase the amount of bacteria and plaque that are drawn to the bristles.
Rinse with baking soda, 3% food grade hydrogen peroxide (half a dropper in about 2 ounces of water) and sea salt

I typically do the #1 routine about 80% of the time.

Prevent Dental Problems Routine #2

I make an MMS (Miracle Mineral Solution) solution in about 2 or 3 ounces of water. I’ll dip my flosser tool in it and floss all my teeth. Then I’ll rinse with water and then dip my toothbrush in it and brush. Rinse with water again. Then I’ll take the remaining MMS liquid and rinse my mouth out with that and go to sleep.

Prevent Dental Problems Routine #3

Floss with “healthy gums” from living libations
Tongue scrape
Salt water rinse
Brush (clay and zeolites mix a little water with the healthy gun oil and swallow the toothpaste make a bunch and store)
Oil pulling (don’t spit in sink, 1 tablespoon rinse for as long as you can)
