I have to say this and get this off my chest. What I want to say in this article is that it’s time to unplug. If we want to regain control of our lives and start thinking for ourselves it’s time to unplug from what society has for us.
For Kate and I that’s meant a lot of things. I rarely watch TV anymore. I’ve never owned a cell phone, thank God. Kate has a cell phone but only because she’s a hair stylist and people like to text their appointments to her. But she hates it and can’t wait to get rid of the thing forever.
I contend that we’ve been incredibly indoctrinated our entire lives about everything. Look at what we think is “normal.” Here are some things people think are normal human behavior:
I could go on forever. All of these things are normal in our society but they shouldn’t be. It’s no testament to you that you can fit into a truly sick society. Our culture is sick and fitting into it just doesn’t make any sense.
I mean, what’s wrong with our society that not only are these things normal in every day life but that nobody questions any one of them?

Where Does This Programming Come From?
Personally I believe it starts with Television (Tell-A-Vision). Let me tell you, they’re going to tell you what their vision for your life is and it’s not pretty. And when are kids are a little older we send them off to school where we further indoctrinate their little impressionable minds.
By the time the kid is 18 they’ve grown up on T.V. and in the school system what chance do they have for ever really thinking for themselves?
It’s time to unplug from all the media garbage out there and take our power back. They want you programmed, medicated and sick. This way they can control you and make money off of you from cradle to grave.
What Can We Do?
The first step is stop watching T.V. and start reading some good non fiction books. T.V. and the media in my opinion is one of the most dangerous things to human beings. Don’t get me wrong, I do catch a little T.V. here and there but I might watch less than a half hour per week. I’m sure as time goes on I’ll watch less and less.
I’m still going through a time in my life where I’m trying to unravel or de-program my mind from everything I was taught growing up. It isn’t easy. I’m sure you’re on a similar path as I am.
There’s nothing I can do about all the T.V. I watched growing up or schools I attended along the way. I can’t change that now but what I can change is what I allow into my being on a day to day basis. I can change how I talk to myself mentally. I can meditate and pray and keep a calm space in my mind. I can work on being non reactive.
You see, the media wants us to react to things. They want an emotional response based on images and pictures they show you. So by not letting that garbage into my being, I can simply opt out of whatever it is that they’re offering.
Why Do This?
It comes down to self worth. It’s the same reason why somebody would rather get their gall bladder removed instead of figuring out why they have gall stones in the first place let alone how to get rid of them.
If you truly care about yourself and see value in yourself, you realize you really have something to offer this world. When you realize that you have a unique gift that nobody else has, you’re going to work on getting the word out.
Chances are you’re not going to be drinking beer each night watching Dr. Phil.
Take time for yourself and invest time into creating a healthier more calming reality for yourself. It starts with unplugging that damn T.V. and doing some yoga or reading instead. Heck listen to some of our podcasts and learn.
Do anything but watch that T.V.
