I would suggest that anyone who accepts that uric acid is the cause of gout has been misinformed.

Dr Mercola in the above article says this:

“Because the REAL underlying problem causing the inflammation, and subsequent damage, is likely due to having chronically elevated blood sugar. (The sugar molecule causes far more damage than any other molecule.) And, your number one way of normalizing your blood sugar and insulin levels is through your diet”.

To this, I subscribe. Serendipitously I discovered that the cause of my own gout was indeed diet and principally the high intake of carbohydrates. Immediately those were reduced in the diet the gout disappeared. This problem is not connected to animal protein which, together with saturated fat, is our body’s natural food.

The problem, however, and many other health problems, is not always directly related to diet (which, obviously is a contributory factor) but more connected to digestion. It is not easy to distinguish this difference but leptin studies are indicating that the stomach needs longer periods of fasting between meals than traditionally we have allowed.

Furthermore, to those who suffer from nocturnal cramps you ought to do two things, stop snacking between meals (which is not as easy as it sounds) and have the last meal of the day at least three hours prior to retiring; it is best to go to sleep on an empty stomach.

Nocturnal cramps will then be found to have decreased by 95% and what little one suffers will be of a milder form. If digestion can cause this problem what else does it do to our constitution? While there is, abroad, the belief that everyone’s needs are different, I find difficulty at accepting that there exists any substantial difference. I suspect much is due to denial and self-fulfilling prophesies.

Fasting and cleansing

New Fasting Movie Back in January, after reading about this stuff on Curezone, I fasted for two weeks, with astonishing results (not all of them good!!) At the time, I filmed it, then afterwards put it together in a little movie, which I feel anyone who’s thinking of embarking on this kind of thing should watch. http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1443006 Haven’t looked at the video yet but 2 weeks right off the bat could have landed him right in the hospital, wow, that was wild of him!

Fasting and its healing ability

Pregnant nursing or on medication or about to go into surgery etc is probably not best time to fast but nursing can be done with huge nutrient uptake before the fast for a day.

Protein and calorie deprivation (where body eats itself – protein- for it’s sugar content – 50%) is avoided by way of working out.

Note that I saw a lot of videos on this new thing called “caloric restriction” diets and studies that are mentioned on youtube.com that are showing huge increase in people’s lifespans lol.. gee .. imagine that!

Coming off a fast

As for the fasting, even a juice fast, yes, you must come off slowly and take at least 3 days minimum, ie, beginning on 4th day when you wake up, that you can eat normally at a minimum, otherwise, one more day may be needed to build self up to eating normally.

You’re looking for 50% to 100% of the time on the fast as the time needed to recoup your body back to normal to handle normal food again. Also, it is a major requirement of a fast that you always do a lot of endurance exercises, eg, watch TV while you are taking that 5 lb weight and exercising your arms with it, do lots of sit ups and squats, like 5 every other hour or so… just simple stuff, but it’s the 5 lb weights that are the real enliven-er on a fast.

Coming off of a fast… green smoothies are good, and a blended apple is good, but only a small amount of it, and banana is GREAT and green grapes are great! lol.. cherries and berries are good! But NOT many because there’s only so much the intestines can handle so be careful.

Like say, 1/4 of apple in blender and lots of water, and then 1/2 a banana, and later in the day some grapes, and then later a green smoothie drink.

The key here is simple: little food building self up to more food each day til regular meals in 4 to 7 days later. I am surprised that Dr. Mercola doesn’t mention the simplest method of dissolving any type of kidney stone, which is just a water-only fast until the pain and other symptoms disappear.

Years ago when we were young and ignorant (I’m 76 now) my husband and I both had kidney stones about the same time, so I know how painful they can be! But I have never had them since, as not long after that we got hold of the wonderful old book by Dr. Herbert Shelton, Fasting Can Save Your Life, in which he has a chapter on this matter. With fasting the stones will usually dissolve to where they can be passed naturally. Of course if the person wants to stay free of recurrence, they must change their ways! More sensible diet, more water, exercise…and don’t expect doctors/drugs/surgery to do for you what only responsible choices can do.

I will pull out a water fast protocol of one Adolf Slar from Czech Republic. He is not a doctor. He does not even have a site or any public information, but I got that information through his friend in the form of letters to two of his wards, who he pulled out of terminal cancers with it (for free). I can’t translate it all, as I have a lot on my dish, but I can do the protocol.

I will post it on this thread in case others may be interested.

I have also tried to go alkaline on baking soda. It did pretty much keep my pains away, but my blood test at ND came up with 7.52 PH. According to the all the wisdom form all kinds of alternate “authorities” I should have dropped dead above 7.45 PH. Well, I am not dead yet, never the less I stopped it to be on the safe side.

I don’t know how old are your kids, but mine are already too “smart” to be dragged into something they do not want to hear off. They are at the age when most of us think that we are bulletproof and that serious ailments are for the old folks. If I knew what I do now 20 years ago, I would teach them to read on books concerning health issues.

I am glad to hear that you are rubbing your kids noses in it, it will pay off royally.

Loss of minerals etc. during the water fasting was one thing, which also worried me. Never the less, it turns out at least according to people who do it regularly and for much longer periods of time than I am going for, that the body recycles what it needs and discards excesses and toxins, therefore balancing itself. It is not as bad as I expected with being hungry. Most of the time a glass of water quenches the hunger and it comes only in short periods anyway. But it makes sense to stay home and take it easy.

I was awfully tired and drained and slept a more than usual, even during the day for the first 4 days. I have also experienced all sorts of intermittent new pains through out my body. From then on, I am slowly getting more and more chipper, the intermittents are gone and the steady ones are tapering off. So it appears that the trade off for occasional hunger is going my way.

Thank you for your wishes. I do not really worry about me, as I have other ones, like my younger kid and some other things to take care of, which is OK. I will indeed pursue the full Jim Humble protocol as soon as I am off the water only, along with dropping fair few items from my diet, most of all sugars. I will go with MMS as a maintenance for good half a year. How is your health now? Have you managed to get rid off all your cancer? Horsing around? 🙂 I am not into those I must say. I am into physics, albeit an amateur.
